Pentatonix never ceases to disappoint me. This time they covered one my favorite tracks, “As Long As You Love Me” off of JB‘s new album, Believe, and mashed it up with Katy Perry‘s “Wide Awake”. This group is so deadily because not only are they amazing vocalist/musicians but they have a very full sound and really know how to cover a song and make it their own (vs merely copying the original). Being in an a’capella group myself, hats off to how fast they get these songs learned and arranged! …not an easy task. I’m excited to hear what original material they’ll bring on their debut album, but in the meantime I look forward to their EP, PTX Vol. 1, dropping June 26th via iTunes.
